A Crafty Christmas

I was in full 'Christmas-mode' this year with decorating, crafting and baking. Just sharing some of that here...

Thumbtack ornament

I got many ideas from Pinterest and those crafts will be linked. This is a thumbtack ornament, a bit dangerous, but pretty!

I took some acorns and glued the tops on
(because they shed them when they drop)
for a display last year, this year I added glitter and
a ribbon and put them on the tree as ornaments.
Not sure where the idea came from.

Christmas cookie time!

This year I made my holiday cookies early. I made chocolate chip, gingerbread and shortbread. Similar to my blog posts last year,   "Snow and Cookies" and "My First Blog Post - Christmas Décor", here are pics of my baking, décor and winter fun.

Snow and Cookies

It has been snowing here for the past week and I wanted to show you the sparkling snow in my yard. When I took my dog outside the other night it was so beautiful that I had to take a picture.

I made Christmas cookies this year. I don't think I have ever really done Christmas baking, but I had the urge so I made gingerbread, shortbread and sugar cookies. My favorite were the shortbread. They were dipped in chocolate and I soon had an addiction on my hands!

I gave some away as gifts and saved some in the freezer for my family when they visit.

I put some silver jingle bells on my windowsill in a glass apothecary jar from a thriftstore. I tossed my Polar Express bell on top.
Last month I painted a mug at Color Me Mine in Kelowna (before they had a fire that burned the place down) =(     I love drinking coffee and Baileys out of my Santa mug!
